Graduate Student Weekly Update

Announcements

  • Dr. Leal's whereabouts: Dr. Leal is doing field research in Puerto Rico. He's still doing Zoom meetings and responding to emails. His access to the Internet will be intermittent so his response may not be immediate.
  • Free books for the taking: There are books on the second floor of Tucker Hall from Dr. Faaborg's and Dr. Carrel's collections. They include many that address evolution and ecology of spiders and birds.
  • New graduate course: Equitable College Teaching as Inquiry (LTC 8900-08), "This course will assist you in developing your professional voice as a teacher through action research. Action research is disciplined inquiry on teaching to improve your own teaching and make changes that impact student engagement and learning." The course is open to graduate students from ALL disciplinary areas who are interested in college teaching. Postdocs are also welcome. For more info contact Dr. Marcelle Siegel.
