Kathryn Storey received the award at the 20th Annual Gilbert S. Greenwald Symposium on Reproductive and Developmental Sciences, which was held at the University of Kansas Medical Center on November 2.
Kathryn is a sixth-year Ph.D. candidate in Dr. Laura Schulz’s lab. Her research investigates whether disruption of placenta-beta cell communication is responsible for gestational diabetes in a mouse model of the disease.
For the competition, Storey had to give a clear and concise (2 minutes or less) overview of her project that could be easily understood by non-experts.
Congrats, Kathryn!
