Dr. King Wins Postdoctoral Faculty Mentor Award

The MU Postdoctoral Association has selected Associate Professor Elizabeth King for the 2021 Postdoctoral Faculty Mentor Award. The award is given to a faculty member who "has demonstrated either a profound, sustained, or leadership contribution to improving the postdoctoral experience."

Dr. Enoch Ng’oma was a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. King’s lab from 2015-2021 and is now an Assistant Professor with the Division. In his letter nominating her for the award, he shared that Dr. King emphasizes continuous learning and practicing as a mentor. “This kind of advising put me at ease. I didn’t feel the pressure to pretend to know. I was accepted as I was. She prized focused attempts, and would bail me out when I got stuck...She taught me how to think, and how to learn in a way that was comfortable and rewarding.”

Congratulations, Libby!
