Biology Graduate Student Association Travel Award

The BGSA can apply for travel grants for group travel to a professional conference, meeting or workshop three times per year through MU’s Organization Resource Group (ORG). To qualify as a group, at least 10% of BGSA members, approximately 8 graduate students, must be traveling to the same meeting. If approved by ORG, award sizes will vary depending on travel period and group size but grants will generally provide around $200 per person. Awards are dispensed by ORG as reimbursements after travel and with travel receipts. By accepting a travel award, the group agrees to share information about the funded activity at the next BGSA meeting after return from the conference or meeting.

For more information and questions about travel grants for group conference travel, please email BGSA@missouri.edu or visit the ORG Web site.

Other travel scholarships

Additional travel scholarships for graduate students are available from the Graduate School, the Graduate Professional Council, the Douglas D. Randall Young Scientists Development Fund, and the Trans-World Airlines Scholarship.
