It has been said that the "body keeps the score," but how? Our lab focuses on understanding how environmental infectious and non-infectious stress 'rewires' the developing gastrointestinal tract across the "gum-to-gut" axis. In this talk, we will discuss the pathophysiological importance of neuroimmune interactions in the gut and in particular how zebrafish, an emerging model in mucosal immunology, can help us answer fundamental questions about how early life stress impacts mucosal neuroimmune responses.
