Undergraduate research experiences are championed for their potential to promote students’ personal and professional development. Yet, there are many more life science majors than can be accommodated in traditional, internship-style research experiences. Faculty across the country have responded to the need for scalable approaches to engaging undergraduates in research by developing Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences, or CUREs. CUREs involve all students enrolled in a course in addressing research problems or questions of interest to the broader community. 

In this seminar, Dr. Dolan will present data on CURE effectiveness and highlight features that make CUREs distinctive from other learning experiences.
