We welcome all transfer students to the Division of Biological Sciences and we will be delighted to work with you to make the transition to MU as seamless and comfortable as possible.

Students at one of the following institutions can earn a specially designed Associate of Arts (at MACC or SLCC) or Associate of Science (at MCC) degree with an emphasis in Biology from that institution and then transfer to MU to complete either a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences with 63 or fewer additional hours of coursework at MU.

If you are transferring from another institution in Missouri you should consult the MU Office of Admissions Transfer Equivalencies web site to determine the exact MU equivalencies of courses that you have already completed at that institution.

If you have completed courses at an out-of-state school, you must have those courses evaluated on an individual basis by the MU Office of Admissions for general transfer credit, and then by the Arts and Science Dean's Office (107 Lowry Hall: 882-6411) to determine whether the courses will satisfy specific Arts and Science degree requirements.

While it is possible to transfer without completing your AS or AA degree, students that transfer after completing the AS or AS degree with an Emphasis in Biology are generally much better prepared and consequently enjoy much greater success in Biological Sciences at MU.
