Postdoctoral professional development is a truly collaborative enterprise in the Division of Biological Sciences. Our Postdoctoral Fellows receive close mentoring from faculty scholars as they develop their professional skills, learn new techniques, and mature as independent research scientists in preparation postdoc and mentorfor a full-time career in the academic, business, government or non-profit sectors. Our Postdoctoral Fellows in turn contribute to the research mission of their faculty mentors and the Division, and themselves serve as research mentors for graduate and undergraduate students.

Our comprehensive mentored apprenticeship program includes: (a) world-class faculty research programs; (b) competitive salaries with multiple sources of support; (c) state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and field sites; (d) opportunities to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students; (e) opportunities to write grants and participate in professional development seminars; and (f) advanced professional networking opportunities at seminars, symposia and national professional meetings.
